AYURVEDIC OVERVIEW

Ayurveda is an ancient ayurvedic medical system which deals with treating the disease through the ancient herbs, lifestyle and Diet. According to ayurveda, when we discuss the disorders pertaining to the nervous system or the neurological conditions there is dushti of majja dhatu and vata dosha.

In this condition there is predominance of Vata and Pitta dosha. Because of the Dusti of these doshas there is involvement of the nervous system and the digestive system. And due to the involvement of the Majja dhatu it affects the nervous system. Now, this Majja dhatu includes the nerves, Bone marrow and is responsible for the functions of the brain.

If we relate this perspective to tick borne encephalitis, the symptoms are very much related to vata and pitta dosha dushti, along with that there is neurological condition which directs towards the majja dhatu dushti.

HOW TO DIAGNOSE THROUGH AYURVEDA?

  • Darshana: This means the direct perception we make through eyes by seeing. In this condition we can check the tick bite, Area of the bite, Inflammation, Seizures etc.
  • Sparshana: The touch perception helps us in examining the symptoms such as fever.
  • Prashana: By questioning we can find about the symptoms the patient is experiencing such as weakness, Body pain, difficulty in speaking etc.

ABSTRACT

Interstitial cystitis also called bladder pain syndrome is a chronic condition that mainly affects the urinary bladder due to which many types of painful symptoms arise. It is characterised by inflammation of the lining of the bladder that can result in frequent urination, urgency of urination and discomfort. It is difficult to diagnose and manage, as its exact cause is not fully explained. Interstitial cystitis has a significant impact on the quality of life of individuals suffering from it, as its symptoms can be emotionally distressing. Early identification of interstitial cystitis is quite important because the symptoms of interstitial cystitis are very disturbing that affects the individual's life and also results in patients being referred to multiple specialists. Currently there are no specific urine or blood markers available for diagnosis of interstitial cystitis. The management tactics are based on a combined approach to eliminate or to reduce the symptoms of interstitial cystitis that helps in improving the quality of life, and intervene in possible disease mechanisms. In this article, we will discuss the causes, signs and symptoms and management of Interstitial cystitis with Ayurvedic and modern approach.

Interstitial cystitis, Causes Of Interstitial cystitis, Signs Of Interstitial cystitis, Symptoms Of Interstitial cystitis, Symptoms Of Interstitial cystitis, Ayurvedic Treatment for Interstitial cystitis, Herbal Remedies

INTRODUCTION

Interstitial cystitis or bladder pain syndrome is a chronic form of syndrome with no specific cause and a high level of suspicion is required for its clinical diagnosis. It affects females more than males. Except for the diseases that have similar signs and symptoms, a clinical diagnosis of interstitial cystitis is made when symptoms are long-term that last more than 6 months such as pressure, pain and discomfort thought to arise mainly from the bladder also including the frequent urination. In most of the cases, because interstitial cystitis is thought to be a diagnosis of exclusion, it is often recognized late and misdiagnosis is common, mainly in men as chronic pain in pelvic or chronic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or overactive bladder. Patients often report pain in the bladder as well as a feeling of an intense urge to urinate. This feeling tends to get worse as the bladder fills, but urination provides temporary relief, usually resulting in a rapid flow of urine and it can be during the day or night time. Urinary frequency is typically resistant to standard overactive bladder therapy, suggesting that a diagnosis of interstitial cystitis should be considered. There are also many other symptoms, like dysuria that means burning sensation and pain while passing urine, and there may be discomfort during or after intercourse that can result in painful intercourse (dyspareunia) in women and extremely painful ejaculation in men. These long-term symptoms have a profound impact on the patient's emotional and social well-being, as well as on his or her quality of life.

CAUSES OF INTERSTITIAL CYSTITIS

The exact cause of interstitial cystitis or bladder pain syndrome is not known, but it's likely that several factors may contribute to this condition. For example, patients with interstitial cystitis also have defects in the epithelium lining that is also known as the protective lining of the bladder. Toxins in urine can irritate your bladder wall due to leakage in the epithelium. Some other factors are also there but there is no proven research on those factors such as infection, hereditary or an autoimmune reaction.

HOW COMMON IS INTERSTITIAL CYSTITIS?

It is quite common. It affects about 1 to 4 million men and about 3 to 8 million women

RISK FACTORS

  • Sex - Women are more prone to have interstitial cystitis.
  • Age - Interstitial cystitis mainly occurs after 30 years of age, But it may also affect the other age groups.
  • Some other Pain disorder - It may be associated with another long-term pain disorder, such as IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) or fibromyalgia.

DIAGNOSIS

There are no specific urine or blood markers available for diagnosis of interstitial cystitis. But Some of the tests can help in evaluating the condition. They are:

  1. Pelvic Exam
  2. Cystoscopy
  3. Urine Cytology

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS

The symptoms of interstitial cystitis vary from patient to patient. Symptoms may be mild to severe in every patient. Some of the symptoms are-

  • Chronic Pelvic Pain
  • Increased frequency of urination
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Discomfort and pain when the bladder fills and relief after urinating
  • Pain in pelvic region in women
  • Urgency of Passing urine

AYURVEDIC VIEW

In Ayurveda in interstitial cystitis, the vitiated pitta dosha combines with vata (Apana Vata) to reach the Basti (Bladder) and affect the Mutravaha srotas (urethra source), causing difficulty in urination. Excessive vitiation of Vata (Mainly ApanaVata) causes pain in the pelvic region and bladder.

Nidana (Causes) as per Ayurveda

  • Excessive intake of liquids, cold food
  • Suppression of urge to urinate

Symptoms according to Ayurveda

There are various symptoms such as:

  • Basti shoola (pain in the Pelvic region) {Due to Vata dosha}
  • Mutrakricha (Difficulty in urination) {Due to Pitta dosha}
  • Daha (Burning sensation) {Due to Pitta dosha}

TREATMENT

Panchakarma therapy is the main procedure of Ayurvedic treatment that helps in purifying and detoxifying the body system. The various procedures that can perform in interstitial cystitis are:-

  1. Abhyanga (Massage): Full body oil massage which helps to rejuvenate both physical and mental health. It also improves blood circulation and opens up the blood vessels.
  2. Swedana (Sweating Therapy): Medicinal steam bath that restores metabolism by flushing out accumulated toxins from the body.
  3. Doing yoga asanas daily helps in providing strength to the pelvic region and urinary system which effectively manages the symptoms of interstitial cystitis. Some of the best yoga asanas for interstitial cystitis are Padmasana, Makarasana and Mandukasana.

DIET AND LIFESTYLE

  • It is important to drink enough fluids every day to prevent urinary system problems.
  • People living or working in a humid environment sweat more, which leads to loss of water from the body. This can lead up to urinary problems. People living in such an environment should drink adequate amounts of fluids like water, coconut water, and fruit juices which helps in preventing urinary infection.
  • Consuming more fruits and vegetables will help boost immunity and also helps in preventing frequent attacks of infections.

How Does Our Weak Immunity Result In Psoriasis? What Is The Ayurvedic Treatment For Psoriasis?

ABSTRACT

The skin is the body's outermost layer, which protects the whole body structure against any injury. The skin is the outer shield of the body which plays many roles like protecting the body, helping to maintain moisture and the body temperature, reducing harmful effects of UV and other radiations and most importantly working as sensory organs which detect touch and temperature. The skin consists of three tissue segments i.e. Epidermis, Dermis and Adipose tissue. Thus, it is necessary to protect the skin for its proper functioning. Here, we are going to learn about Psoriasis which involves the skin. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which the immune system is involved. In this disorder, the immune system of the body is overactive and the immune system attacks the healthy skin cells. This inflammation causes skin discolouration, red patches and many more. Now, we are going to study the role of immunity in Psoriasis and its management of Psoriasis by Ayurvedic medications. Let's start!

INTRODUCTION

Psoriasis is an autoimmune skin disorder in which the skin gets rashes, itching, scales and patches all over the body. It is a chronic autoimmune disorder which is non-contagious. It is an autoimmune disorder which causes skin cells to multiply faster compared to normal cell multiplication and this faster multiplication causes skin to peel and replace old skin cells, drying, itchy and red/ pink patches covering the entire body mainly on the elbow, trunk, scalp and knees. It is a very common and long-term disease. This condition usually flares up which means it occurs suddenly and subsidies for some time. The condition of Psoriasis may also be due to the genetic component which is passed to offspring by biological parents. So it can also run in families. The condition of Psoriasis can be triggered by any irritant or any other allergen which may vary from person to person. Psoriasis is not a contagious disease which means it can not be spread from one person to another person by physical contact. In this article, we are going to study details about Psoriasis, its causes, signs and symptoms, its diagnosis and Ayurvedic treatment. Also, we got details about the Psora care pack for Psoriasis by Planet Ayurveda.

ROLE OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM IN PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition in which T cells (immune cells) attack the healthy skin cells of the body. This attack by T cells results in an inflammatory change in the skin. This immune cell attack causes the body to produce more skin cells in a faster manner which is about ten times faster than normal skin cell production. This faster production results in the peeling of extra skin cells from the topmost and leads to plaque formation. In Psoriasis conditions the immune cells are overactive than in normal conditions. This overaction of the immune system causes inflammatory reactions in healthy tissues.

CAUSES OF PSORIASIS

The causes of Psoriasis are not known properly. However, the immune system plays a major role in the formation of this disorder. The over-reactivity of immune cells is the main cause of skin cell multiplication and causes inflammatory reactions in skin cells. In Psoriasis, the immune system of the body mistakenly attacks healthy cells in place of foreign invaders, bacteria or other microorganisms. Another cause may be genetic, in which a component of this disorder may be passed to the offspring by parents. However, there may be some triggers that can flare up the condition of Psoriasis which may be:

  • Stress
  • Any infection
  • Skin injury
  • Weather changes
  • Medications like beta blockers

According to Ayurveda, causes(निदान) of Psoriasis are as follows,

विरोधीन्यन्नपानानि द्रवस्निग्धगुरुणी च |

AYURVEDIC OVERVIEW OF PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is a disorder in which the autoimmune system is not working its normal way i.e. it is overactive. The exact causes of Psoriasis still need to be properly defined. According to some researchers it may be inherited, or may be due to triggers like stress and infections. In Ayurveda, descriptions of all skin skin diseases are grouped under Kushta Roga. The correlation of Psoriasis is done with Ekakushta which is a type of Kushta Roga. Features of Psoriasis and Ekakushta are similar in nature. The causes of Ekakushta are defined above. When due to the above causative factors Doshas (mainly Vata and Kapha) are vitiated. Due to the vitiation of Doshas, Dushyas also vitiated. The Dushyas involved are skin (Twak), blood (Rakta), flesh (Mamsa), serum (Ambu/ Lasika) etc. The Vitiation of the above-mentioned Doshas and Dushays leads to the formation of red patches all over the body which are similar to Psoriasis. The Ayurvedic line of treatment (chikitsa sutra) for Ekakushta (Kushta roga) is as follows:

सर्वं त्रिदोषजं कुष्ठम् तु बलाबलम् |
यथा स्वेर्लक्ष्णेर्बुध्वा कुष्ठानाम् क्रियते क्रिया ||
दोषस्य यस्य पश्येत् कुष्ठेषु विशेषलिङ्गमुद्रीतम् |
तस्येव शमम् कुर्याततः परम् चानुबन्धस्य ||

Reference - चरक संहिता चिकित्सास्थान 7/31-32

According to the above Shloka, all the Kushta including Ekakushta is Tridoshas ( all the three doshas i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha are involved ). So one should choose the line of treatment according to the symptoms and strength (Bala) of the patient. The Dosha which is increased more than others should be treated first. Then after this other doshas should be treated. Ayurvedic treatment for psoriasis/ Ekakushta can be given in both external modes that are in the form of Lepa (application of medicated paste formed from herbs) or internal mode that is in the form of tablet, powder, capsule or decoction. Ayurvedic formulations that can be given for the treatment of Ekakushta are Panchatikta Ghrita, Madhvasava, Mustadi churna, Tiktashatpalaka ghrita, Mahatiktaka ghrita and many more.

Rife Machine – A Ray Of Hope For Cancer Patients

ABSTRACT

Cancer is one of the most devastating illnesses. After cardio-vascular diseases it is the second leading cause of death globally. It is a condition where body cells begin to multiply without any regulation. It does not have a singular mechanism of working rather each type of cancer has its own unique set of traits and course of development. No matter what type of carcinoma one has, to a patient it is merely a symbol of pain and misery. There are various treatments available like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, stem cells or bone marrow transplant. And there is no doubt that such advanced therapies have benefited cancer patients in improving their quality of life. However, they do come with their own set of limitations and drawbacks. Therefore, it is clear that an integral approach is still needed to manage cancer. This article discusses a new development in the treatment of cancer that is a piece of equipment called Rife Machine along with the benefits cancer patients can obtain from the ancient science of Ayurveda. We will also discuss how Planet Ayurveda has developed a special set of herbal formulations for cancer patients that can greatly aid in their journey.

INTRODUCTION

A scientist named Dr. Albert Abrams postulated a theory called 'radionics' which states that every disease gives off a specific electromagnetic frequency and by finding the frequency of that disease, an impulse of that same frequency can be administered to kill the affected cells. On the basis of this theory, in the 1920 s, an American scientist named Royal Raymond Rife invented the Rife machine. It is also called a Rife frequency generator. It produces low energy waves called radio frequency electromagnetic fields. This electrical energy has a lower potency as compared to x-rays or radiotherapy which has high energy. The waves produced by a rife machine are similar to radio waves.

RIFE MACHINE AND CANCER

Raymond Rife invented several optical microscopes, which he believed could visualize the auras of living microorganisms. He claimed that he could use the color of the auras to calculate the electromagnetic frequency of these microbes. Rife had a theory that microbes are present in the tumor cells which cause malignancy. He believed that if their specific electromagnetic frequency is detected and then transmitted into the patient's body, it would make the microbes vibrate at a 'mortal oscillatory rate' resulting in death of the microbe and hence cure of the disease.

HOW TO USE A RIFE MACHINE

The rife machine works by delivering low energy electrical frequency into the body through the patient's hands or feet. Some machines have electrical pads to be placed on hands or feet and some have plasma tubes that have to be hand-held.

These pads or tubes are connected to the machine through which they transmit electrical impulses to the patient's body. This machine ought to be used for a few minutes per day and multiple times a week.

HOW IS RIFE MACHINE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER THERAPIES

A study was done on a small number of people with advanced stage cancer. They suffered from liver cancer called hepato-cellular carcinoma. It was found that the low frequency waves affected cancer cells. It did not affect normal cells. This gives the rife machine an advantage over other radiation based treatments of cancer.

RESEARCH

  • A study was published in the British Journal of Cancer about experiments carried out in test tubes that found specific electromagnetic frequencies to be effective against prevention of some cancerous cells from growing without affecting normal cells.
  • In some animal studies specific electromagnetic frequencies blocked new cancer cells from forming and inhibited tumor growth.
  • Two human studies were also conducted into the use of this technology. It was concluded that electromagnetic frequency therapy is safe and provides promising results.

RISK FACTORS

  • Due to the weak frequency emitted by these rife machines, they are not likely to cause any long term side effects. In fact, the frequencies are sometimes too weak to even penetrate the skin.
  • The risk factor to be considered here is the quality of the rife machine used. Because there is no regulation in the making of these machines, anyone can make them. Thus, the quality of these machines can vary greatly.
  • Low-quality machines may not be safe and can cause shock or burns.

ANOTHER COMPANION IN CANCER TREATMENT

For a versatile and deadly illness like cancer one can never have too many options. One such option is the ancient science of Ayurveda that sees cancer in a different limelight, i.e. on the basis of Doshas. Although cancer is not specifically mentioned in Ayurvedic texts, on the basis of symptoms it can be correlated with Kapha dominant conditions like Arbuda (tumor) and Granthi (glandular cyst). For some reason, there are times when typical cancer treatments in patients like surgery, chemo and radiotherapy are contraindicated. In such cases, patient has no other option. Ayurveda can act as a rescuer in such quandary. Herbal remedies can help put the progression of cancer to a halt.

Kalmegh / Creat / Andrographis paniculata - Classification, Ayurvedic Properties and Dosage

Abstract

Since the beginning of time, healing plants have served as a source of regional medication. Throughout the world, people frequently employ Andrographis paniculata, a potential therapeutic plant. The most common uses for this plant include the treatment of vital chilly, free entrails, fever from a few viral sources, jaundice, and as a liver and cardiovascular health tonic. Cytotoxic, anti-protozoan, reliving, antioxidant, immunostimulant, anti-diabetic, anti-infective, and anti-angiogenic effects of the plant's concentrate and pure mixtures have all been examined. Its effects on insecticidal and toxic actions have an impact on hepatic chemical management, hepato-renal defense, and the balance of sexual hormones. Using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), the diterpene lactone molecule andrographolide that was found in the methanolic portion of the plant A. paniculata was cleaned up. This study presents the current research on A. paniculata in terms of restorative use, phytochemistry, pharmacological activity, harmfulness profile, and beneficial usage in order to overcome any challenges that may necessitate future discovery prospects.

Introduction

About two-thirds of the general population in several non-modern nations is thought to passionately rely on conventional specialist doctors and restorative plants to meet their specific clinical problem demands. Due to a number of issues with conventional medications, researchers are actively exploring a number of species that are focused on different plant species and their potential as potential drugs. Relation With The Doshas

Beyond immune support, Kalmegh has other advantages. A regular body temperature is maintained by the herb's ability to lower pitta and kapha in the head and chest, as well as to cut through thick phlegm brought on by an increase in kapha. Additionally, it supports the health of the sinuses, throat, and respiratory system. You can use doses even topically to quiet an overactive pitta. Pitta imbalances brought on by high levels of pitta in the blood and stagnant pitta in the liver (ranjaka pitta) are balanced by the bitter and cooling characteristics of kalmegh, which enhance liver function and encourage bile formation. In addition to activating agni, boosting hunger, promoting a healthy digestive tract and also helps in the treatment of digestive disease, kalmegh can burn and expel ama.

Home Remedies

  • Malaria: Kalamegha leaf juice and maricha (piper nigrum) powder are given internally to those who suffer from the disease.
  • Inflammation: Kalamegha leaves have anti-inflammatory properties and are used to treat inflammation. The leaves can be squeezed to produce extracts that can be administered internally to reduce mild inflammatory changes brought on by sports injuries. 50 to 100 leaves are needed to create the juice in order to achieve the best results.
  • The leaves are mixed with haridra (curcuma longa) and administered topically when there is a skin allergy.
  • A decoction made from the gathered leaves and stem bark is used to treat fever. Put two fistfuls of leaves in 200 ml of water to make a decoction. Use 100 cc twice daily, one hour before eating, for three days to see results quickly.
  • Patients with diabetes mellitus are given 60-100 ml of a kwatha (decoction) produced from the entire plant when they have madhumeha.
  • Liver Disorders: In the event of any form of liver disease, kalamegha leaf decoction is taken orally. 25 leaves can be used to produce a decoction in 100 ml of water. 50 ml of a decoction, given twice a day, an hour before food, for six weeks, may be used to treat liver problems.

Benefits Of Kalmegh

  • As a cholagogue and stimulator of liver activities, kalamegha primarily affects the liver. It is a blood purifier that is administered for illnesses brought on by blood impurities. Malaria and chronic fever are treated with a mixture of maricha churna and kalmegh plant powder. The medication is administered when ill, after a fever has subsided.
  • In medicine, kalamegha liquid extract is employed. Due to its bitterness, kalamegha is used in place of kiratatikta as well as being a kiratatikta adulterant.

Pharmacological Potential Of The Plant

1. Hepatoprotector

The traditional Indian medical system makes considerable use of the hepatoprotective and stimulatory properties of Andrographis paniculata (Kalmegh). This plant's leaves provide an aqueous extract that has long been used to treat jaundice and a variety of liver conditions. About 26 distinct treatments, including Andrographis paniculata, are utilized in conventional Ayurveda therapy to treat liver diseases. The major ingredient in Andrographis paniculata, andrographolide, was discovered to be successful in reducing liver damage brought on by carbon tetrachloride. Additionally, andrographolide exhibits notable hepatoprotective activity against various forms of liver damage brought on by paracetamol or galactosamine, and it is more effective than the traditional antioxidant silymarin at preventing a drop in bile production brought on by paracetamol.

2. Immunological Potency

Recent studies suggested that Andrographis paniculata extract could potentially interfere with the human immunodeficiency virus's (HIV) ability to reproduce and suggested that Andrographis paniculata could be combined with current AIDS medications. The vital component of Andrographis paniculata, andrographolide, has the ability to disrupt or alter the virus's cellular signal transduction pathway, obstructing critical enzymes and viral multiplication. Two theories put Andrographis paniculata as an effective immune system activator. A nonspecific immune response, in which invaders were scavenged and killed by macrophage cells, followed the antigen-specific response, in which antibodies were produced to combat invading bacteria. Andrographis paniculata may be beneficial for a number of conditions because it triggers both reactions.

3. Anticancer Property

Several anticancer medications stop the growth of cancer cells by triggering apoptosis, necrosis, cell cycle arrest, or cell death. Others may entail immunomodulatory action, which turns on the body's own immune system to attack these cells. As they are more likely to prevent a wider spectrum of malignancies under a wide range of conditions, drugs that inhibit numerous procancer processes are of greater interest. Andrographolide has a good case for becoming a therapeutic anticancer pharmacophore because it has a twofold effect on cancer cells, acting both directly and indirectly.

4. Antimalarial Activity

There are still numerous tropical and subtropical nations where malaria is a common disease. It was discovered that Andrographis paniculata significantly reduced the growth of Plasmodium berghei, one of the parasites that spreads malaria. The reactivation of the essential antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase is thought to be the cause of andrographis' protective effects. Extracts from Andrographis paniculata efficiently kill filarials in dogs that block lymph channels and cause elephantiasis. Recent studies also noted that Andrographis paniculata has antimalarial properties that are effective against Plasmodium falciparum.

5. Cardiovascular Activity

In a rabbit model of atherosclerosis, andrographis increased nitric oxide, cyclic guanosine monophosphate, and the activity of superoxide dimutase while lowering lipid peroxide and endothelin levels. These findings pointed to the antioxidant capacity of Andrographis paniculata to preserve endothelial function, resulting in the preservation of the nitric oxide/endothelin ratio. In a different study, Andrographis paniculata was found to increase blood clotting time. As a result, pre- and post-treatment with Andrographis paniculata extract before angioplasty and after surgery significantly reduced blood vessel constriction, which decreased the risk of restenosis (the subsequent closing of blood vessels) after angioplasty procedures. The plant Andrographis paniculata has also been discovered to lessen the arterial narrowing brought on by damage to the blood vessel's inner lining and high dietary cholesterol.

6. Antivenom Activity

Mice that had been experimentally injected with rattlesnake venom showed a powerful neutralizing effect after receiving plant extracts of Andrographis paniculata and, in particular, purified fractions. In vitro testing showed that the isolated fractions were more successful at reducing rattlesnake venom toxicity than in vivo testing.

Conclusion

From the entire review, it is clear that Andrographis paniculata is a significant medicinal herb. This plant has numerous chemical components that are active and have defined pharmacological effects. The results of the studies make it clear that Andrographis paniculata has anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-angiogenesis, anti-malarial, anti-venom, and antibacterial activities. Therefore, Kalmegh / Andrographis paniculata herb has medicinal benefits in conventional medicine.

INTRODUCTION

Cancer is a worldwide health issue that can originate in nearly any organ or tissue when aberrant cells proliferate out of control and spread to other parts of the body. This process is called metastasizing and is the primary cause of cancer-related death. Worldwide, cancer is the second most common cause of death. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer found in men after lung cancer. Prostate cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the prostate. Prostate gland is in the male reproductive system. It just lies below the bladder (the organ that collects and empties urine) and in the front of the rectum (the lower part of the intestine). It is about the size of a walnut. The prostate gland makes fluid that is part of the semen.

TYPES OF PROSTATE CANCER

  1. Adenocarcinoma: Tumor arises from glandular tissue.
  2. Leiomyosarcoma: Malignant tumor of smooth muscle cells of utreus, pelvic.
  3. Rhabdomyosarcoma: Tumor arises from a cell called a "rhabdomyoblast", which is a primitive muscle cell.

CAUSES

The causes of the Prostate cancer are not yet clear, but following factors lead to prostate cancer:

  • Mutations: All of the body's cells have inherited gene mutations that affect certain people. Prostate cancer may rise as a result of certain gene alterations. Prostate cancer may be linked to some inherited gene mutations. Men with Lynch syndrome, BRCA1 or BRCA2, PALB2, CHEK2 etc., may be to blame for raising the risk of prostate cancer.
  • Genetics: Prostate cancer can be genetic. If prostate cancer is in the family generations then chances are more to arise.
  • Age: Men over 65.
  • Racial Background: Natives of Africans and Americans regions have high incidence as compared to other regions.

AYURVEDIC ASPECT

According to Ayurvedic theory, each individual has a unique combination of bioenergetics principles called Doshas. There are three doshas i.e. tridoshas and each represent distinct physiologic process: vata or air (principle of movement, nervous system), pitta or fire (principle of metabolism, venous system), kapha or water (principle of structure, arterial system). Samprapti (Pathogenesis) in Ayurveda is explained on the basis of Tridosha. Cancer originates due to metabolic crisis i.e. increases in aggravation of vata and decreases in kapha forces, when both interact with one another resulting in proliferation. All used conventional ideas, like the tridosha theory, the sapta dhatu (seven body tissues), and agni (metabolic strength) to frame the pathophysiology of cancer.
