As we all know that for reproductive purposes there is a system known as a reproductive system also called as genital system consisting of several internal and external organs. Any types of disease or disorder which can retard the normal function of the reproductive system are known as reproductive disorders. One of them is testicular microlithiasis, a disorder of male reproductive system. This is the disease of testis and can lead to the cancer of testis, so this should be treated in early stages. In this article we are going to discuss the testicular microlithiasis and herbal remedies of Planet Ayurveda effective in managing the Testicular microlithiasis.
INTRODUCTION
Testes are the oval shaped organs which are covered by a skin layering known as Scrotum. These testes are responsible for the production and storage of the sperms which are one of the main parts of male reproductive system but when small clumps of calcium get collected on the testicles this condition is known as Testicular microlithiasis. This condition is non-progressive and uncommon in which tiny, uniform; numerous calcium clusters are present in one or on both the testes. Acharya Shushrut explains the Anatomy of testes by saying Mamsa asruk Kapha Medaha parsadad Vrishno (Shushrut Sharir-4/30), which means testes are made up of the muscles, fat, blood and other derivatives.
CAUSES
The exact cause of Testicular microlithiasis is not known but some factors which are associated with this are:
- Mumps
- Testicular cancer- in some cases
- Infertility in males
- Cryptorchidism
- Intraepithelial germ cell neoplasia
But according to the Ayurveda concept, Testicular microlithiasis is mainly caused by suppression of the impulse of the semen.
AYURVEDIC CONCEPT
Testicular microlithiasis can be correlated with the Shukraz mutraskrichha, in which discharged of semen is contaminated by the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) separately which are situated in the urinary bladder produce pain in the phallus and pelvic region, cause difficulty in passing urine mixed with the semen and pelvic as well as testicles get stiffened, swollen and intensely painful.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Generally Testicular microlithiasis is asymptomatic but there can be pain and inflammation may be reported. There is presence of some signs and symptoms due to some associated diseases. If this is associated with testicular cancer then symptoms and signs may include:
- Testicles may swollen
- Pain in the testes
- Painless lump on the testes which may vary in size
- Heaviness or Aching in the lower abdomen or scrotum
- Lump does not go away and remain persistent to the testicles
- Large size lymph nodes of abdomen or neck
TYPES
Testicular Microlithiasis Is Of Two Types:
- Classical Testicular Microlithiasis - These are present with 5 microcalcifications in one or both of the testes.
- Limited Testicular Microlithiasis - There is presence of echogenic foci which can be one or two.
RISKS
Risk factors of testicular microlithiasis are related to the testicular cancer and these factors may include:
- Subfertility and infertility
- Ethnicity
- HIV or AIDS
- Muscle building supplements
- Family history i.e. Genetic disorders
- History of testicular maldescent or cryptorchidism
- At young age there can be presence of atrophic testis
- Testicular dysgenesis syndrome
- Adaptation of unhealthy lifestyle and diet
- Excessive intake of kapha vardhak ahara
DIAGNOSIS
Testicular ultrasound is the best method of diagnosing the testicular microlithiasis in which the appearance of micro calcification can be seen in one or both of the testes. The ultrasound images shows three types of results.
- When there is presence of less than five micro calcifications, this case is of limited testicular microlithiasis.
- When there is presence of five or more tiny calcifications, this is the case of Classical type of Testicular microlithiasis.
- When there is presence of many tiny calcifications, this is diffuse testicular microlithiasis.
TREATMENT
There is no exact treatment for the testicular microlithiasis, patients are monitored if they don't have any symptoms and are not associated with the other conditions. Ayurveda can help with the help of natural herbs and other methods in managing the Testicular microlithiasis. These herbs are effective in clearing the microcalcifications present in the testes and also prevent the further formation of these micro calcifications. These herbs are effective in preventing other associated diseases also.

1. Varunadi Vati

These are also effective in reducing pain occurs due to testicular microlithiasis.Varunadi Vati has been used for treating the various other diseases also. Herbs present in this formulation are effective in treating the various ailments like relieving pain occurs due to stones, preventing formation of further stones, and it do not break the stones like allopathic medicines because breaking cause complications such as blockage in the passage but also dissolve the stones so it can easily pass out as well as passing of the semen so can manage the testicular microlithiasis. These contains four herbs such as Gokhsur (Tribulus terrestris), Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa), Guggulu (Commiphora mukul) and Varun (Crataeva nurvala).
Dosage - 1-2 tablets two or three times with lukewarm water.
2. Punarnava Capsules
This herbal remedy of Planet Ayurveda has therapeutic components which promote the digestive system, improve the eyesight, manage heart issues and also prevent diseases like urinary tract infection, diabetes, gout, impotence, arthritis etc. These capsules are effective in Testicular microlithiasis as it boosts libido and improves fertility in the men. Testicular microlithiasis can be managed with the use of herbal formulations and these formulations prevent the further complications. But the effect of these herbs can vary from one person to another person because each and every individual is different from others. As we all know that there is no specific treatment in the modern system of medicine for this disease. They suggest some medicines which only lower down the various symptoms of disease but don't treat the underlying cause.
