INTRODUCTION

CAUSES
Invasion of the specific strain of Bartonella bacteria in the red blood cells and endothelial cells causes the initiation of the infection. These organism proliferates here and division occurs.
DIAGNOSIS
Diagnosis cannot be singly made based on the clinical presentation as they can be non specific and are not confirmatory. Diagnosis can be confirmed by the laboratory tests. There are certain imunoflourescent tests for IgG and IgM antibodies.
