Seborrheic keratosis is one of the most common non-cancerous growth most commonly seen in older adults. A seborrheic keratosis usually appears as a brown, black or light tan growth on face, chest, back or shoulders. The growth has a waxy, scaly and slightly elevated appearance. Seborrheic keratosis generally looks like a waxy or wart-like growth. Warts generally appear on the face, chest, shoulders or on the back of the body. There may be a single growth or cluster of them.

Symptoms of Seborrheic keratosis and skin tags are:

• Usually light tan to brown or black
• Flat or slightly elevated with a scaly surface
• Ranges in size from very small to more than 1 inch.
• May cause itching
• Has a characteristic “pasted on” look
• Round or oval in shape

What are the causes of Seborrheic Keratosis and Skin Tags?

The causes of seborrheic keratosis are not known. They generally increase in number with age and the lesions are not contagious. They tend to run in the families so inheritance may play a role.

Skin diseases are often caused by the malnutrition due to the consumption of mostly junk food regularly toxic as well as weak digestion. Micronutrients may be deficient particularly Vitamins A, D, magnesium and zinc.

According to modern medicine, removal of lesions is only the only option available by methods such as: freezing with liquid nitrogen, burning the lesions with an electric current or by vaporizing the growth with a laser.
